What is Yin?
Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga incorporating principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. A true practice in unwinding and letting go. Yin yoga is a passive practice in that you work to relax all of the muscles and stretch the ligaments, tendons and fascia, which will result in a longer resting length of your connective tissue. In this class, we will move through some slow, long-held, floor-based postures - using bolsters blankets and blocks to ensure you feel supported and relaxed.
What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a Traditional Chinese Medicine practice, where tiny needles are inserted into specific points around the body. These points connect to spaces along the meridians, or channels of vital energy/qi, which allows energetic blockages to be removed.
This time of year is the crossing over of Autumn into Winter, which in Traditional Chinese Medicine signifies a movement from the element of Metal into Water. At this time, we are moving deeper into a reflective and quiet state of yin, and can support ourselves through slow movement practices, warming foods, and specific areas of acupuncture.
